Who Qualifies for These Crew Discounts?

If your employer issued you an airline or airport ID, you qualify. There is no application, no waiting list, and nothing to upload. The check happens where it counts: at the rental counter or the hotel front desk.

Who is included

• Pilots and cabin crew, including regional, commuter, and feeder carriers
• Ground handling, ramp, gate, check in, operations, and maintenance staff
• Air traffic controllers, tower and radar colleagues, and airport authority staff
• Cargo and freight crew, including loadmasters and cargo ground staff
• Charter, corporate, and business aviation crew, plus dispatchers
• Agency crew, contractors, and freelance colleagues hired through a third party
• Travel agency and tour operator employees
• Retired aviation staff

Contractors and cargo crew: yes, both count

What matters at the counter is the ID you carry, not the name on your payslip. If your agency or the airline you fly for issued you a company ID, you are good to go. Freight is aviation too, and a cargo roster is arguably harder on the body than a passenger one.

Travel industry colleagues

You are welcome here, and a good share of these deals were built with agents and tour operators in mind. Carry your agency or industry card. Some partners keep a deal airline only, and that is the partner drawing the line rather than us.

What you show, and when

Bring the company photo ID your employer gave you, together with your driving license for a rental car. Expired badges and a photo of a badge on your phone are usually turned down. You never need a corporate email address, a company code, or a copy of your ID uploaded anywhere.

One important detail for cars: showing your ID at the desk is not enough on its own. The crew rate is attached to our own booking link, so the booking has to start on our Alamo crew rate page. Book directly with the rental company and you get the public price, ID or no ID.

Cadets, family, and retirees

• Cadet without a badge yet? Do not risk a refused rate on arrival. Use the worldwide car rental comparison, which asks for no crew ID at all, and move to the crew rate once your badge is in your pocket.
• Family and friends. A staff rate is personal. The ID holder has to be the main driver at pickup, or one of the guests at check in. For a booking someone else collects on their own, send them the worldwide comparison page instead.
• Retired from aviation? Plenty stays open to you. Our section for retired aviation staff is laid out per former employer.
