The Hertz Airline Staff Discount, and Why We Point to Alamo First

Yes, the Hertz airline staff discount is real, and what you need for it sits on our own Hertz deal page. For most crew we still point to the Alamo crew rate first: that one is a dedicated crew rate.

The Crew

Alamo first, and here is why

Alamo is our main car rental partner and the brand where aviation staff get a dedicated crew rate. There is no membership and nothing to type: the rate is attached to the booking link on our Alamo crew rate page, and your airline ID does the rest at the counter.

If you only want one route to remember, that is the one. It is also the route most colleagues end up using.

The Hertz staff discount is real

We are not going to pretend otherwise. Hertz runs an airline staff discount, and everything you need for it sits on our Hertz deal page: the current code and the booking route, kept in one place.

We keep it there on purpose rather than repeating it in help center articles. Staff codes get revised, and a code left loose on the open internet tends to stop working for everybody. That page always carries the current version.

One thing worth knowing before you book: when we priced the same car over the same dates on both routes, the Hertz staff rate was rarely the cheapest option on the table. It is a real rate and it is yours to use, but it earns its place by comparison, not by default.

Which route should you book
  • Renting in the United States with your airline ID: start with Alamo, where the dedicated crew rate sits.
  • Attached to the Hertz brand, or your own arrangements point that way: use the staff discount from our Hertz deal page, and compare it against an Alamo quote for the same dates before you commit.
  • No airline ID, or renting outside the United States: neither route applies, so use our worldwide car rental comparison page instead.
What both routes ask of you

An employer issued airline or airport ID at pickup, your driving licence, and in most cases a credit card in the name of the main driver. No membership on either side, and nothing is checked in advance.

How we keep this free

Some links on our site lead to partners who pay us a commission when a booking comes through. It costs you nothing extra and the rate you see is the rate you get.

Your next step

Want the full picture before you choose? Read our crew comparison of the big rental brands. Then book from the Alamo crew rate page and bookmark it, because a saved link means the crew rate is waiting for you on every trip after this one.
