How the Alamo Crew Rate Works and How to Book It

The Alamo crew rate is attached to our own booking link, so start on our Alamo page and book from there. Show your airline ID when you collect the car and you are set: no membership, no login, and no code to remember.

Book from our Alamo page, not directly with the rental company

The crew rate travels with our own booking link. Book straight with the rental company and you are quoted the public price, no matter how impressive your badge looks. Starting from our Alamo crew rate page is the whole trick.

There is no membership, no login, and no password. The rate that applies right now is shown on the page itself, so you always see today's pricing rather than a number someone wrote down last year.

Booking it, step by step
  • Open our Alamo crew rate page and use the booking button on it.
  • Enter your pickup city or airport and your dates, then compare the car classes.
  • Add your flight number when you collect at an airport. Most airport locations track the inbound and hold the car if you land late.
  • Check the fuel policy, the mileage terms, and the extra driver rules before you pay.
  • Save the confirmation to your phone and you are done.
What happens at the counter

Nothing is verified in advance and we never charge you anything. At pickup you show your airline or airport ID badge, your driving licence, and in most cases a credit card in the name of the main driver.

The person holding the airline ID has to be the main driver and be present at pickup. A partner can normally be added as an extra driver at the desk with their own licence in hand.

Who can use it

Pilots, cabin crew, ground and ramp staff, operations, air traffic controllers, airport employees, and travel industry professionals with an employer issued ID. Retired from the industry? What an old ID still opens varies per partner, so we keep a separate section for retired aviation staff.

Duty trips and holidays both count

This is a personal staff rate rather than something limited to duty travel, which is why most crew use it for holidays. Family in the car is no problem as long as you are the main driver. The crew rate is at its strongest in the United States. Renting elsewhere, or without an ID? Our worldwide car rental comparison page is usually the better start.

How we keep this free

Some of the links on our site lead to partners who pay us a commission when a booking comes through. It never costs you anything extra, the partner pays it from their own margin, and the rate you see is the rate you get.

Your next step

Open the Alamo crew rate page, run your dates, and bookmark it while you are there. A saved link means crew pricing on every rental from now on, including the one you book at an unholy hour after a long duty. Want the background first? Read our explainer on the Alamo crew arrangement.
